01

Download and extract

Download the current Windows x64 ZIP from PatrolPath.net. In File Explorer, choose Extract All and keep the contents together in one folder.

Early field-test builds may trigger Windows SmartScreen because the application is not yet distributed through the Microsoft Store. Only run a copy obtained from the official PatrolPath download page.
02

Turn on Windows Location

Open Settings → Privacy & security → Location. Turn on Location services and allow desktop applications to access location. PatrolPath uses Windows Location rather than an NMEA COM port.

03

Start PatrolPath

Open Patrol Path.exe. A new unlicensed installation connects once to register its five-day evaluation period. No agency key is required to begin evaluating the software.

04

Test GPS before the first patrol

Use Test GPS in PatrolPath near a window or outdoors. The test listens for up to 90 seconds so a GNSS receiver has time to obtain a position after a cold boot.

FIELD-TESTED CONFIGURATION

Dell Latitude 5430 Rugged

The current Windows build has been developed around Windows 11 Pro and Windows Location-compatible GNSS hardware, including the DW5930e Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 receiver used in the Latitude 5430 Rugged. Install current Dell firmware and GNSS/location drivers before field testing.
